The smile by William Blake

Smile. In the midst of all the chaos around the world I’m glad that a beautiful poem crossed my way and got to express my heart’s content. Indeed, I smiled so many times to see what I felt even though it’s an everyday exercise that comes out of me. The more I smiled, the less stress I felt; really beautiful and peaceful at the same time.

Smiling is something quaint and unique to all. There is no such thing as ugly smile. I never come across an ugly smile ever! Rather it speaks volume to the persona, lessens the burden and spreads a good vibe around.

Like a song to spread the joy around, smile beautifies the mirror of our mind. How happy we are when we see the genuine smile of others. When a baby smiles it’s heavenly, it melts your heart ! In a nutshell smile is the visible expression of our happiness and content; our gratitude and appreciation. It’s contagious! The best practice to feel more human and reduce stress. Passing a simple smile is way powerful, and it is the easiest way of help. When we adorn with such graceful charm, our world will be more vibrant and peaceful.

But, then there is the scowl to contrast and unravel the negative. Even though it’s purely intended to express the human sullen and sadness, we still tend to smile as if like an evil twin. We mask the grim with smile, too.

See how William Blake cleverly and beautifully unfolds the two-fold nature of our social expression. Slight lift upward or downward to interpret what’s in it behind the layer…

The smile by William Blake

There is a Smile of Love
And there is a Smile of Deceit
And there is a Smile of Smiles
In which these two Smiles meet

And there is a Frown of Hate
And there is a Frown of Disdain
And there is Frown of Frowns
Which you strive to forget in Vain

For it sticks in the Hearts deep Core
And it sticks in the deep Back bone
And no Smile ever was smild
But only one Smile alone

That betwixt the Cradle & Grave
It only once smild can be
But when it once is smild
Theres an end to all Misery
